Diabetes Symptoms
The common three signs and symptoms of diabetes are,
-Blurred Vision
-Frequent Urination
-Increased Thirst
These symptoms develop very quickly in type 1 diabetics, especially in children and youths. They develop slower in type 2 diabetics. Type 1 diabetics also may lose weight, considerable amounts of weight rather quickly even tho they are eating as much if not more then before. They may even find they have an increased appetite and persistant fatigue.
The symptoms above can also affect type 2 diabetics if they are not diagnosed and treated quickly. Many people with diabetes, especially type 2 diabetes do not realise they have it, and it can take upwards of 8 years to show fully or be diagnosed.
Other symptoms include,
-Flu like symptoms
Because diabetes can make you feel fatigued, weak and give you a loss of appetite, it can be mistaken for a viral infection. Sugar is one of the bodies main fuels and when it does not reach your cells, you will get the above symptoms.
-Sore or red gums
Diabetes can increase the risk of infection in the gums and the bones that keep your teeth in place. If you are prone to gum disease before you get diabetes, diabetes will make it a lot worse. It can cause the gums to come away from the teeth.
-Sores healing slowly
Diabetes can cause your sores to hear less quickly and make you more prone to infections. Diabetes does affect your body’s defences against infection.
-Blurred vision
Having too high levels of sugar can cause loss of bodily fluid and fluid in the eye is no exception. This of course directly affects your ability to focus your eyes on an object. This will improve once you start treatment.
