Cause Of Diabetes
Diabetes is quite a common disease. Millions of people in the United States are living with diabetes. 1 in 100 people have the disease, some do not even know they have. Over three quarters of the people with diabetes have type 2 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes occurs when insulin creating cells in the pancreas are destroyed. Why this happens, no one is 100% sure, but it’s thought it might be triggered by a viral infection.
Type 2 diabetes happens when the body can still produce some insulin, but not enough. This disease occurs more in obese people. While this disease use to happen more in people over the age of 40, more and more younger children are getting type 2 diabetes.
The people most at risk of getting type 2 diabetes are,
People with any sort of family history of the disease
People aged over 40
Asian or African Carribean people
Obese people
Even women who have given birth to a large baby
You cannot catch diabetes from someone, stress will not cause diabetes, but it will make the symptoms worse if you have it and eating sweets will not directly cause diabetes.
